MCM-41 (Mobile Crystalline Material) là dạng silicate được điều chế bằng việc sử dụng các template và hiện nay MCM 41 rất được quan tâm vì cấu trúc rất xốp của nó, bề mặt riêng lớn, hơn nữa cấu trúc của nó khá giống với microreactor và vì vậy làm tăng mạnh bề mặt contact. Điểm đáng quan tâm nữa là MCM-41 rất bền nhiệt. Ứng dụng chủ yếu trong xúc tác dị thể với pha khí.... By changing the length of the template molecule, the width of the channels can be controlled to be within 2 to 10 nm. The walls of the channels are amorphous SiO2. This feature, together with its exceptional porosity (up to 80%), makes MCM-41 is the least mechanically stable compared to, e.g., other porous silicas, silica gels or zeolites.
