Tập đoàn Nature Publishing Group (UK) vừa cho ra đời tạp chí Nature Chemistry. Số đầu tiên Vol. 1, Issue 1. sẽ bắt đầu vào tháng 4 này. Tạp chí sẽ có 12 issue trong 1 năm.

Cùng với Journal of the American Chemical Society (Impact factor 7.885) của Hội Hóa học Mỹ và Angewandte Chemie International Edition (Impact factor 10.031) của Hội Hóa học Đức, Nature Chemistry của Anh sẽ là 1 trong 3 tạp chí hàng đầu thế giới về Hóa học. Chỉ số Impact factor của Nature Chemistry sẽ được bắt đầu tính từ năm 2011.

Aqhl nói Nature Chemistry vào Top 3 là nói quá, chỉ có thời gian mới trả lời được thôi.
Ngay trong nhóm ACS thì JACS không phải là cao nhất mà là Journal of Chemical Reviews với IF là 26. Tiếp theo là Accounts of Chemical Resarch IF khoảng 16; rồi Nano Letters khoảng 9,5: Advanced Materials IF 8,1

Nhóm RCS thì Advanced Chem Society reviews mới cao với IF 13

Kinh nghiệm cho thấy các tạp chí mới ra đời luôn luôn khó khăn. Nhưng Nature làm ăn rất bài bản nên hy vọng sẽ OK. Wait and see thôi.

Nature khá tự tin khi đưa dàn editor còn trẻ năng. Những bài trong số đầu cũng không có gì ghê gớm. Nhưng Nature có tiếng từ xưa, chắc Nature chem sẽ mạnh lên nhanh thôi.
Bài tớ thích nhất trong số đầu này là “The legacy of Lewis”, trong đó có đoạn:
“The fundamental importance of much of Lewis’s work was only realized a few years after his untimely death, and this is perhaps the most signiificant factor, in his never receiving the Nobel prize. The somewhat bizarre circumstances of Lewis’s death only add to the mystery”.
